Job Description

Shape the workforce that shapes lives.

At Youturn, our work matters. Every day, our teams support people navigating some of life’s most complex challenges — across community and family services, postvention, and mental health and wellbeing.

With over 35 years of impact, we partner with communities, governments and sector organisations to deliver services that are safe, responsive and deeply human.

This role is an opportunity to stand alongside those delivering that work — to enable them, strengthen them, and help shape the environment in which they can do their best work.

The Opportunity

This is not a traditional HRBP role.

This is a senior partnering role at the heart of service delivery — where people, performance and purpose intersect.

You will work alongside senior leaders across a geographically dispersed portfolio, helping them navigate complexity, build capability, and deliver sustainable outcomes for both their people and the communities they serve.

You will bring both strategic clarity and operational depth — translating people strategy into practical, grounded solutions that work in real environments, with real constraints, and real human impact.

Desired Skills and Experience

What You Will Do

You will be a trusted advisor, challenger and enabler — shaping how we lead, how we structure, and how we care for our people.

Your focus will include:

  • Partnering with senior leaders to align workforce strategy with service delivery outcomes
  • Leading workforce planning and capability uplift across a multi-site, multi-state workforce
  • Coaching leaders to build clear, accountable and high-performing teams
  • Navigating complex ER/IR and workforce risk with sound judgement and pragmatism
  • Embedding psychosocial safety, wellbeing and sustainable ways of working
  • Using data and insight to inform decisions, strengthen performance and anticipate risk

About You

You are a seasoned HR leader who understands that good people practice is not theoretical — it is lived, applied and felt.

You bring:

  • Experience as a senior HR Business Partner in complex, service delivery environments
  • Strong capability in workforce planning, organisational change and ER/IR
  • The confidence and judgement to advise, challenge and support leaders through complexity
  • A coaching mindset — balancing care, clarity and accountability
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach, grounded in data and attention to detail

Experience in community services, health, government or the not-for-profit sector will be highly regarded — but equally important is your alignment to purpose and your ability to operate in environments where the work truly matters.

Why Youturn

At Youturn, we are building an organisation where care is not a concept — it is a practice.

Where leaders are enabled to lead well.
Where people are supported to do meaningful work sustainably.
And where our systems, structures and ways of working enable — not hinder — impact.

This is a role where you can contribute to that ambition in a tangible, lasting way.

How to Apply

If you are motivated by purpose, grounded in practice, and ready to contribute at a senior level.

As part of your application, please respond to the following questions:

1. Service Delivery & Partnership

Describe how you have partnered with leaders in a service delivery environment to improve workforce outcomes or service delivery. What was your role and impact?

2. Workforce Planning at Scale

Share your experience planning for a multi-site and/or multi-state workforce. How did you use data or insight to inform your approach?

3. Coaching & Enabling Leaders

Provide an example of how you have built leadership capability or supported leaders through complex people matters.

Applications close: Friday, 1 May 2026.
