headspace Port Lincoln | Fixed Term | Part-Time (0.6 FTE)
This position is 0.6 FTE, with Tuesdays required as a mandatory workday. The remaining hours can be worked across other weekdays and may be negotiated with the successful candidate.

We're looking for an Access & Intake Worker who can build trust quickly, assess needs confidently, and help connect young people aged 12–25 to the right support at the right time. As one of the first points of contact, you'll play a critical role in creating positive experiences and improving mental health outcomes for young people across the Port Lincoln community.

Professional supervision and development opportunities
Conduct initial screening, intake and comprehensive bio-psycho-social assessments.
Undertake suicide and risk assessments and coordinate appropriate responses.
Provide brief interventions, support, referrals and care coordination.
Manage intake enquiries and support young people to access appropriate services.
Collaborate with families, carers, service providers and multidisciplinary teams.
Support young people presenting with mental health, wellbeing and AOD concerns.
Participate in case reviews, group programs and community-focused service delivery.
About You
Essential Qualifications
Tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or Mental Health Nursing.
Current driver's licence.
Current Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain).
Eligibility to obtain relevant Child Safety clearances.
Key Skills & Experience
Experience conducting intake, screening and comprehensive assessments.
Demonstrated ability to undertake suicide and risk assessments.
Knowledge of youth mental health, AOD issues and evidence-based interventions.
Experience delivering brief therapeutic interventions and care planning.
Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with young people, families and stakeholders.
Ability to build collaborative relationships and coordinate care across services.
Confidence using Microsoft Office and electronic client management systems.
