About Youturn
The individuals, families and communities we support are at the heart of everything we do at Youturn. We listen deeply – honouring every voice, story, culture and choice – through our core values of Integrity, Respect and Inclusion. We have a strong commitment to reflection and responsibility and are always curious and adapting through our Learning value. At Youturn, we believe in the importance of caring today for a better tomorrow, represented in our value of Stewardship.
Youturn is a community-based not-for-profit charity providing social, community, and health services across Australia. With more than 35 years of experience, we are a trusted provider supporting individuals and communities through life’s toughest moments, empowering people of all ages to live safe, connected, and meaningful lives. With compassion and equity at our core, we support people in the areas of housing, community and family support, mental health, and support for those bereaved or impacted by suicide.
At Youturn, projects don’t exist for the sake of delivery plans, stand-ups, or status reports.
They exist because somewhere down the line…
someone needs a better service, a faster system, or a more human experience.
And right now, we need someone who can make that happen.
You might be our person if this sounds like you:
You’ve walked into a project where:
the roadmap looked good… but reality didn’t cooperate
stakeholders all wanted different things (and said it differently)
vendors nodded confidently… then missed the mark
and somehow, you were the one who had to bring it all together
And you did.
Not by being the loudest…
but by being the one who could connect the dots, reduce the noise, and move things forward.
What you’ll actually be doing (in real terms)
You’ll take ideas that are:
half-formed
over-ambitious
under-scoped
or politically complex
…and turn them into delivery that works.
That means:
Turning “we need a new system” into structured, executable reality
Leading end-to-end project delivery; from planning through to implementation and transition
Seeing around corners on risks, dependencies and unintended consequences
Holding the line on scope, time, budget and quality; without becoming rigid
Running governance that’s useful, not performative
Managing vendors so they deliver outcomes, not just invoices
Making sure go-live isn’t the finish line; adoption, value, and benefits realisation are
The tech matters. But the thinking matters more.
Yes… this is ICT and digital delivery.
But we’re not looking for someone who hides behind methodology.
We’re looking for someone who:
understands the realities of technology delivery lifecycles, dependencies and implementation risk
can operate across Agile, Waterfall, and “whatever this project has become”
knows when to lean into structure and when to adapt on the fly
understands that risk logs don’t manage risk… people do
can translate between humans and systems without losing meaning
brings discipline to governance, reporting, controls and delivery frameworks… without losing momentum
What strong delivery looks like here
You’ll be someone who can:
Build trusted relationships with business leaders, technical teams, vendors and stakeholders
Navigate competing priorities and coordinate complex workstreams
Influence decisions and keep people aligned, even when things get messy
Manage risks, issues and interdependencies with clarity and confidence
Support change readiness, adoption and sustainable outcomes; not just technical delivery
Because success here isn’t just delivery.
It’s delivery that actually works in the real world.
Here’s the part most ads won’t say:
Some of our work is messy.
Not broken… just real.
Priorities shift
Context matters
People care deeply about outcomes
So, if you need everything perfectly defined before you start, this probably won’t feel comfortable.
But if you’re someone who can bring clarity, calm and forward momentum into complexity;
you’ll do some of your best work here.
Why Youturn?
Because this isn’t tech for optimisation’s sake.
