About the Role
We’re looking for an Accommodation Support Worker to deliver frontline support to young people accessing supported accommodation services. In this role, you’ll support young people in short-term accommodation as they build independence, develop life skills and work towards stable housing outcomes.
You’ll provide day-to-day support, contribute to case plans, and help maintain a safe and respectful living environment for residents. This is a hands-on, client-facing casual role based in the Caloundra area, with the possibility of travel across the Sunshine Coast if required, where you can make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people experiencing housing instability.

Key Responsibilities
Support new residents to settle into the program and feel safe in their environment.
Assist with initial needs assessments and connecting residents with relevant services.
Contribute to the development and implementation of individual case plans within a client centered case management framework.
Supervise residents and support their health, safety and wellbeing.
Encourage independence through life skills development and daily routines.
Essential Requirements
Tertiary qualification (or working towards) in the human services field (minimum Certificate IV).
Experience working with youth, mental health and/or community services.
Residential support experience is highly regarded.
Understanding of client-centred practice and its application in service delivery.
Knowledge of issues affecting young people experiencing homelessness, child protection involvement or significant life barriers.
Passion for supporting young people to develop independence and life skills.
Understanding of child protection systems and mandatory reporting requirements.
Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport with young people and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to advocate for clients and support them to navigate services.
Other Requirements
This role operates across a 24/7 roster, which may include day shifts, sleepover shifts, weekends and public holidays depending on program needs. There are currently casual shifts available across weeknights and weekend day/night shifts, with opportunities varying based on program needs.
Current C Class Open Driver Licence.
Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
Ability to obtain or hold a Licensed Care Suitability Check issued by the QLD Department of Child Safety, Youth Justice and Multicultural Affairs.
