At headspace Bribie Island, we're looking for an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Social & Emotional Wellbeing Worker who is passionate about creating meaningful change for young people, families and communities. This role is specifically identified for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants.

About You
You may come from Youth Work, Community Services, Mental Health, Aboriginal Health, Social Services or a similar background.
Most importantly, you're someone who:
Is passionate about improving outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people.
Builds authentic relationships and trust within community.
Understands the social, cultural and systemic challenges faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people.
Brings a strengths-based, compassionate and culturally responsive approach to supporting others.
Enjoys working both independently and collaboratively as part of a supportive team.
Desired Skills and Experience
Qualification & Skills
Certificate IV in Mental Health, Aboriginal Health Care Practice, Youth Work, Community Services or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
Experience supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people, families and communities.
Strong understanding of social and emotional wellbeing and the factors impacting young people.
Ability to build trusted relationships and engage effectively with community stakeholders.
Experience facilitating youth programs, events or community initiatives.
Excellent communication skills and a strengths-based, person-centred approach.
Current Driver Licence and Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain)
What You'll Be Doing
Providing culturally appropriate social and emotional wellbeing support.
Coordinating care and connecting young people with the services they need.
Facilitating youth programs, community activities and health promotion initiatives.
Engaging with schools, community groups, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations and local stakeholders.
Supporting headspace Bribie Island to continually strengthen cultural responsiveness across the service.
