Job Description

Youturns Specialist Homelessness Service provides a range of short-term, crisis and refuge accommodation and outreach, working to support singles, couples, and families over the age of 16, through their crisis housing situation as they move towards independent living. 

We aim to reduce the number of people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless by providing supported accommodations, assertive outreach, and centre-based support.

 

The Opportunity

As Team Leader, you will provide operational leadership and guidance to Support Workers and Case Officers, ensuring high-quality service delivery across our Accommodation and Outreach programs. You’ll also contribute to the development of service procedures and case management frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a team delivering homelessness intervention and case management.
  • Coordinate initial client assessments and oversee the development of individualised support plans.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and reporting in line with funding requirements.
  • Maintain service manuals and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Represent Youturn in community forums and networks.
  • Participate in on-call duties as required.

About You

You are a values-driven leader with a strong understanding of homelessness and housing support services. You bring empathy, professionalism, and a collaborative spirit to your work.

Essential Criteria:

  • Cert IV in Social Housing or equivalent experience.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Community Services or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in homelessness/social housing.
  • Strong knowledge of client-centred case management.
  • Skilled in recognising and managing potential risks
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and leadership skills.
  • Current Open Driver’s Licence and eligibility for a Blue Card.

Other Requirements
