Youturn is a community-based not-for-profit charity providing social, community, and health services across Australia. We're looking for an experienced and passionate Family Support Worker to join our team in Toowoomba. In this rewarding role, you'll empower families with the knowledge, skills and confidence to create safe, stable and nurturing environments for their children. Working within an early intervention and family support framework, you'll deliver practical support, facilitate group programs, build community connections and help families navigate life's challenges before they escalate.
Supporting children, young people and families through case management, advocacy and practical assistance.
Delivering family strengthening and parenting programs that build confidence, resilience and capability.
Engaging and supporting families from diverse backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and culturally diverse families.
Building strong relationships with community stakeholders, government agencies and support services.
Providing guidance, education and resources that improve child safety, wellbeing and family outcomes.
Working collaboratively with internal and external partners to achieve positive and sustainable change
What You'll Bring
Experience
We're looking for someone who can build trust quickly, support families through complex situations and work confidently within a community services environment.
You'll have:
Experience in family support, child and family intervention, community services, social work, counselling, mental health or related fields.
Strong case management experience supporting vulnerable individuals and families.
Experience working collaboratively with community agencies, government stakeholders and support networks.
An understanding of child safety and early intervention principles.
The ability to manage competing priorities, crisis situations and reporting requirements.
Desired Skills and Experience
Qualifications
You'll hold:
A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Social Sciences, Community Work, Counselling, Mental Health, Child & Family Intervention, or a related discipline; and/or equivalent case management experience.
A current Blue Card (or equivalent Working With Children Check).
Eligibility to obtain a Suitability Check.
A current Open C Class Driver's Licence.
