About Youturn

Youturn is a community-based not-for-profit charity providing social, community, and mental health and wellbeing services across Australia. With more than 36 years of experience, we are trusted to support individuals and communities through life’s toughest challenges, empowering people of all ages to live safe, connected, and meaningful lives.

Driven by compassion and equity, we support people in the areas of homelessness, community and family support, mental health, and support after suicide loss.

To support this work, we’re looking for a Talent Acquisition Partner who is not only strong in recruitment delivery, but who genuinely enjoys operating as a trusted partner. Someone who understands that great hiring comes from clarity, judgement and values-led decision-making; not just filling roles.

This is a hands-on, autonomous role where you’ll lead recruitment across the organisation, partner closely with leaders, and help shape meaningful experiences from recruitment through to onboarding and induction.

If you’re a relationship-first recruiter who enjoys advising managers, strengthening capability, improving systems and finding the right people for meaningful work, this is a role where your impact will be felt well beyond the hire.

This is a 12-month fixed-term opportunity, supporting a parental leave backfill.

Job Description

Why You'll Love This Role

  • You’ll shape the future of our workforce across a purpose-driven, community services organisation.
  • Work closely with leaders who value partnership, clear advice and sound judgement.
  • Operate with autonomy, trust and support as the sole TA resource, managing a varied and high-volume recruitment portfolio.
  • Opportunity to uplift recruitment practices, onboarding and induction experiences.
  • Contribute to workforce capability, role clarity and long-term organisational sustainability.

What You'll Do

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment for a diverse portfolio of frontline, clinical, specialist and corporate roles.
  • Partner closely with leaders to clarify role requirements, capability needs and hiring expectations.
  • Design and deliver values-based, defensible selection processes.
  • Build proactive talent pipelines and source for critical and hard-to-fill roles.
  • Create thoughtful, respectful candidate experiences across recruitment and onboarding.
  • Coach hiring managers and panels in effective recruitment and assessment practices.
  • Improve recruitment processes, systems and artefacts to strengthen quality and consistency.
  • Use recruitment data and insights to inform workforce planning and capability gaps.
  • Support organisation-wide induction and early engagement experiences.

Desired Skills and Experience

What You'll Bring

  • Proven experience operating as a trusted recruitment partner in complex, fast-paced environments with competing priorities.
  • Strong ability to build trust, influence and partner with leaders and stakeholders.
  • Sound judgement and confidence advising managers on recruitment decisions.
  • Experience using structured, evidence-based assessment approaches.
  • High attention to detail, strong organisation skills and comfort working autonomously.
  • Confidence operating in regulated environments, ensuring recruitment decisions and checks are defensible and compliant.
  • Experience working with recruitment systems and improving processes.
  • A genuine interest in improving how recruitment is done, not just maintaining the status quo.
  • Alignment with values-led, inclusive and ethical recruitment practices.
